St. Martin Parish

The St. Martin Parish (Sint Martinusparochie) is the main parish of the city of Groningen. Most of our activities are held in one of its churches: the St. Joseph Cathedral (Sint Jozefkathedraal).

Diocese Groningen-Leeuwarden

Both the student parish and the St. Martin’s Parish, as well as many other parishes, fall under the jurisdiction of the Diocese Groningen-Leeuwarden (Bisdom Groningen-Leeuwarden).

Our Lady of the Garden Enclosed

Our Lady of the Garden Enclosed (Onze Lieve Vrouwe van de Besloten Tuin) is a diocesan hermitage and Marian site of pilgrimage located in Warfhuizen, a village in the far North of the Province of Groningen.

Trappist Monastery of Schiermonnikoog

The trappist community of the island of Schiermonnikoog (Klooster Schiermonnikoogis the only monastic community in the diocese. Having moved to the island from their previous abbey in Diepenveen in 2015, the community is currently working on building a new monastery.

Student Organizations

Catholic Students Netherlands

The KSNL or Catholic Student Netherlands (Katholieke Studenten Nederland) is a network of Dutch Catholic student organizations. The network aims to connect Catholic students from different student towns, such as Delft, Enschede, Leiden, Nijmegen, Tilburg, Utrecht and, of course, Groningen.


St. Augustinus is member of the StudentenKoepel voor Levensbeschouwelijke Organisaties in Groningen (SKLO). This organization stimulates and supports students to think about life questions by bundling activities, offering financial support and stimulating cooperation between student organizations.
